HOUSE IN LO CURRO Location: Via Gris Avenue, Vitacura. Santiago de Chile Architect: Enrique Browne Program: Single Family House Date: 1984 This project consists of a house at the base of the Manquehue hill. The terrain, very steep and with some large rocks, was divided between two owners leaving a common access road. A design was commissioned for the upper house. It is aligned parallel to the western side of the site and consists of an inclined plane which follows a north-south slope. Interiorly, there is an undulant wood ceiling which better delimits the rooms, which are tiered one after another along-side a flight of stairs. The bedrooms are located above, the family room, the services areas and the dining room, in order to finish finally in the living room and terrace below. The side of the house that overlooks the neighbor has a stone wall with yellow illumination above. The other side is glass and it is broken up in order to obtain panoramic views of Santiago. The house is dominated by stone, wood and glass.
